"Six Degrees Of Separation:" The Desire For Fame And Riches

"Isn't that what everyone wants? A new world?" Ouisa Kittridge (Stockard Channing) in the movie Six Degrees of Separation. I was stunned when I first saw the movie "Six Degrees of Separation" in 1993 in a theater in Evanston, Illinois. I was visiting my sister who had a party to go to. I went to the movies. I remember walking to my car afterwards in a daze. At the time, I didn't understand why. Now I know. The lives of the rich and famous seem so wonderful. F. Scott Fitzgerald, the author of The Great Gatsby said, "The rich are different from you and me" to which Ernest Hemingway purportedly responded, "Yes. They have more money," suggesting that there's nothing special about them. Yet I want to be them. Perhaps you do too. ...

"THE RAILWAY MAN" - A New Film Report

One of the hardest tasks in any person's life is to forgive and learn to love someone's heinous actions that have scarred his senses. Few victims can dare to do that. In this memorable film starring Colin Firth as a British veteran of a Japanese prison camp and survivor of The Thai-Burma Railway work force, we see a man tortured beyond sane endurance. Teen Angst Portrayed in Movies and TV Shows

Teen angst is something that has always interested me. The movies and shows about teenage outcasts may seem overused. However, I still get emotionally invested in these characters because I see myself in them. These movies and TV shows are addicting for all teenagers whether you're popular or the loneliest teenager in the world. Movies And MP3

Movies and MP3 files are already compressed with near maximum capacity. Repacking them would just create larger files and increase decompression time. Ripped movies are still packaged due to the large file size, but compression is disallowed and the RAR format is used only as a container. Because of this, modern playback software can easily play a release directly from the packaged files, and even stream it as the release is downloaded (if the network is fast enough).

MP3 and music video releases are an exception in that they are not packaged into a single archive like almost all other sections. These releases have content that is not further compressible without loss of quality, but also have small enough files that they can be transferred reliably without breaking them up. Since these releases rarely have large numbers of files, leaving them unpackaged is more convenient and allows for easier scripting. For example, scripts can read ID3 information from MP3s and sort releases based on those contents.
