Emily Booth of The Horror Channel

The Bird With The Crystal Plumage - Dario Argento's Giallo Masterpiece

I am a big fan of Italian giallo movies, and one of my all time favourites in this genre is The Bird With The Crystal Plumage (1970). The Bird With The Crystal Plumage - which was the first instalment in the Animal Trilogy, and was followed by The Cat o' Nine Tails (1971) and Four Flies on Grey Velvet (1972) - was also the first giallo movie that Dario Argento directed, on his way to making his own significant mark in this hugely popular category of filmmaking. ...

The House On Haunted Hill 1999 Review

Having always been a huge fan of the old 1959 Vincent Price movie, House On Haunted Hill, I must admit that initially I was a little cynical about how this 1999 remake would compare to the original film, knowing how disappointing many such reboots of classic horror flicks have proved to be. However, having now watched it on DVD, I have to say that this new take on the story turned out to be one of the pleasing exceptions. In fact, I thought it was a very good remake indeed. ...

The Green Inferno Review

If you harbour the guilty pleasure of gory cannibal movies where groups of jungle explorers get captured, stripped naked and subjected to all kinds of hideous mutilations and deaths by hordes of uncivilised, flesh-hungry savages, then I am sure you will enjoy Eli Roth's homage to the cannibal terror genre: The Green Inferno. Movies And MP3

Movies and MP3 files are already compressed with near maximum capacity. Repacking them would just create larger files and increase decompression time. Ripped movies are still packaged due to the large file size, but compression is disallowed and the RAR format is used only as a container. Because of this, modern playback software can easily play a release directly from the packaged files, and even stream it as the release is downloaded (if the network is fast enough).

MP3 and music video releases are an exception in that they are not packaged into a single archive like almost all other sections. These releases have content that is not further compressible without loss of quality, but also have small enough files that they can be transferred reliably without breaking them up. Since these releases rarely have large numbers of files, leaving them unpackaged is more convenient and allows for easier scripting. For example, scripts can read ID3 information from MP3s and sort releases based on those contents.
