Swift's rise to showbiz dominance has been unconventional and, conveniently enough, Swift. Born in Pennsylvania to a homemaker and stockbroker just 19 years ago, Taylor began singing and performing with various karaoke and theatre groups as a young child. Immediately perceived as a talent, her mentor took out a space in a local mall to host karaoke shows featuring the young talent.
By the time Taylor had reached the age of twelve, she was already writing her own songs and playing guitar. Within five years, she released "Tim McGraw", a single which peaked at number 6 on the country music charts. With the release of her album "Fearless" last year, she has established herself as one of the biggest names in country music.
Now Taylor Swift is headlining her first tour, one of the youngest artists to ever get top billing in so many huge venues. Some are predicting Swift will be near the top in concert tour earnings this year, with her show back on May 22 in Los Angeles' Staples Center selling out in two minutes and almost every show selling out weeks before the date of the concert. Frequently compared to Carrie Underwood, the beautiful young music prodigy Swift has risen to heights not seen in country music since Garth Brooks even without Underwood's American Idol exposure.
The concert in Dallas, Texas will be at the American-Airlines Center, which is one of the largest indoor venues in Texas. The venue is also the home to the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars. Even with a large number of tickets available, this show sold in mere minutes as well.
Dallas is receptive of country music and Taylor Swift is one of the most highly anticipated events of the summer concert season, although September is just a bit outside of "official" summer dates. Taylor's charisma and talent will blow away the fans in Big D, and her attention to detail will guarantee a great show.
