The Leading Man - British backstage show romantic movie in regards to an American film superstar who seduces a playwright's lonely spouse and his leading-woman mistress. When it might not make up its mind whether it is a comedy tirade or a light thriller, it is still extremely amusing stuff. Bon Jovi is excellent as the rash, dishonorable Yankee, and Galiena and Newton are fetching as the females snared in his web. No Man of Her Own - Ostentatious performance based on Cornell Woolrich narrative of Helen Ferguson (Stanwyck) assuming another's identity and becoming part of a fmaily. Later in the movie she is being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, John Lund, Jane Cowl, Phyllis Thaxter, and Richard Denning. (98 minutes, 1950)
Lilies of the Field - A "little" film that made superb, triumphing Poitier an Oscar as handyman who helps to put up a chapel for Skala and German-talking nuns. Cast includes Sidney Poitier, Lilia Skala, Lisa Mann, Isa Crino, and Stanley Adams. (93 minutes, 1963)
Strange Interlude - A Eugene O'Neill drama that shows the tangled web of the differentiation between our thoughts and our words. Norma Shearer plays a woman who lost the love of her life when he was shot down in WWI. The movie speaks of romances and marriages between Nina and three men, only one of whom she loves. It is about growing old without settling their complications. This is a consuming movie, with Shearer at her dazzling best. The players includes Norma Shearer, Clark Gable, Might Robson, Maureen O'Sullivan, Robert Youthful, Ralph Morgan, Henry B. Walthall, and Alexander Kirkland. (110 minutes, 1932)
I Love You Alice B - Extraordinary comedy in reference to the panicking of gentle-behaved L.A. lawyer. Vendor has never been more superior. The film was written by Larry Tucker and Paul Mazursky. Cast Peter Vendors, Jo Minivan Fleet, Leigh Taylor-Young, and Joyce Van Patten. (93 minutes, 1968)
Pretty Woman - A coincidental meeting of a street prostitute and a callous and especially well-heeled businessman leads to a unique proposition. He employs her for the week, to attend some functions with him as an escort. He has no idea what he has gotten himself into. Starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.
