Family Movie Night At Home With Movie Downloads

By Ron Sheppard

The world is changing fast, and what used to be a special machine as well as special media storage has now all changed. Movie downloads are moving to the forefront for a variety of reasons.

The original family movie night started with a machine called a VCR or a Beta player, you could purchase movies, rent them, and even create your own library. In fact, movie rental stores were popping up all over. Watching movies on TV caused almost as much time in commercials as the movie time itself, and this too has changed. These movies allowed you to have your popcorn, your pop, and allowed a large family to enjoy a night's entertainment in their own home watching one of the newest releases without theater fees.

Of course, you could pause to take a family break with the older style movies, and if you bought the movie, the kids watched it over and over again

Of course, the home movies and the home entertainment systems required storing movies, and also, these media system were changing so fast that you had to purchase a new media player in order to see the latest releases. This too has changed.

Today's world brings you the quickest way to see the latest releases of movies. Movies are now available for download through the Internet. These downloadable new releases and classics not only are available 24 hours a day, but they don't require the storage space the VHS variety or the DVD discs did.

You'll also be able to find your favorite old movies available such as classic movie downloads and others. And of course, this media system isn't going to change. Your storage of movies may change a bit as external drives are now available that hold over 5G's of data giving you the opportunity to store several movie downloads on something not much bigger than a lighter.

Your home computer now has the ability to be your newest media system. While the Internet continues to move faster and faster, it means that your movie downloads are downloaded faster, and of course changes in media storage means quicker and easier retrieval and storage of your favorite movies. This means that you'll never be purchasing another movie machine for your evening's entertainment at home.

Nowadays, you can explore at home in your spare time the newest ways to rent movies downloads, purchase movie downloads, and store them. You'll be able to find complete full versions of the newest releases, your favorite classics, and other entertainment such as documentaries all available on the Internet.

Movie nights at home haven't changed, the family can still enjoy an inexpensive night at home watching a movie they have downloaded on the Internet. It's just that you no longer have to get to the movie rental place before it closes, return the movie paying late fees because you forgot it for a few days, or store book sized or CD sized movies somewhere in your home.

While the world changes, your family entertainment at home doesn't have to, set up a home theater system using your home computer, and then browse movies any time of day. Then download those movies from the Internet, store them on the latest media storage unit, and allow the family to enjoy these movies over and over again, just like they used to.

New technology means that you'll never be purchasing another machine for your family movie night at home, also, you won't have to have several different machines to play your old favorites and the newest releases. The digital era and digital storage has arrived, which allows you to download movies for your home movie night.

Movies And MP3

Movies and MP3 files are already compressed with near maximum capacity. Repacking them would just create larger files and increase decompression time. Ripped movies are still packaged due to the large file size, but compression is disallowed and the RAR format is used only as a container. Because of this, modern playback software can easily play a release directly from the packaged files, and even stream it as the release is downloaded (if the network is fast enough).

MP3 and music video releases are an exception in that they are not packaged into a single archive like almost all other sections. These releases have content that is not further compressible without loss of quality, but also have small enough files that they can be transferred reliably without breaking them up. Since these releases rarely have large numbers of files, leaving them unpackaged is more convenient and allows for easier scripting. For example, scripts can read ID3 information from MP3s and sort releases based on those contents.
