By Orval Kane

Here are nine of the best films of all time. Choose one to see tonight! Skyscraper Wilderness - Fred's a pilot on leave who meets photographer Leslie; Benchley's supper talk, Astaire's "One for My Infant" and "My Beaming Hour" make it come together. Cast includes Fred Astaire, Joan Leslie, Robert Benchley, Robert Ryan, and Elizabeth Patterson. (103 minutes, 1937)

Borderline - Peculiar thriller comedy in which L.A. police officer Trevor tries to collect proof contrary to cunning drug smuggler Burr when mixing with hard gentleman MacMurray in Mexico. Starts out hopefully, although eventually slows down in absurdity. Burr makes a articulate scoundrel. The cast includes Fred MacMurray, Claire Trevor, Raymond Burr, Jose Torvay, Morris Ankrum, and Roy Roberts. (88 minutes, 1950)

Mrs. Dalloway - Redgrave is radiant as the wife of a British M.P., who on the night of a gathering, thinks back to her youth when she selected between a safe, secure life and a more challenging presence with a gentleman who genuinely loved her. McElhone is a phenomenal equal for Redgrave in the flashback scenes. Cast includes Vanessa Redgrave, Natascha McElhone, Rupert Graves, Michael Kitcben, Alan Cox, Lena Headey, Amelia Bulhnore, Sarah Badel, Oliver Ford Davies, Katie Carr, John Sitting, Robert Hardy, Margaret Tyzack, and Phyllis Calvert. (97 minutes, 1998)

Only You - Likable confection in reference to a youthful girl who invests her entire life looking for her perfect mate whose name was summoned up on a Ouija board. Cast includes Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey, Jr., Bonnie Seek, Joaquim De Almeida, Fisher Stevens, and Phyllis Newman. (108 minutes, 1994)

The Ploughman's Lunch - Difficult, cynical condemnation of British behaviors, ethics and affairs of state, focusing on the exercises of absolutely self-centered journalist (Pryce) and others throughout the Falklands battle. The motion picture is rather perceptive, within the restraints of its outlook. Cast includes Jonathan Pryce, Tim Curry, Rosemary Harris, Blunt Finlay, and Charlie Dore. (100 minutes, 1983)

The Leading Man - British backstage show romance in regards to an American film megastar who seduces a playwright's lonely spouse and his leading-woman mistress. When it might not make up its mind whether it's a comedy tirade or a light thriller, it's still exceedingly humorous stuff. Bon Jovi is excellent as the foolhardy, unscrupulous Yankee, and Galiena and Newton are fetching as the females snared in his web. Cast includes Jon Bon Jovi, Anna Galiena, Lambert Wilson, Thandie Newton, Barry Humphries, and David Warner. (100 minutes, 1997)

Encino Man - When Stoney and Dave are digging a hole in Dave's backyard for a swimming pool., they come across, a prehistoric man, frozen in a block of ice. When the ice thaws, the prehistoric man, they name Link, comes to life. Can Link find out to live in the contemporary world?

Rent-a-Kid - While the head of an orphanage takes a holiday, father Nielsen takes over with a idea to produce money by renting out kids. While predictable, this silly premise is unpredictably successful. Sooner or later 3 children are rented by a hip '90s couple considering adopting. A respectable family film. Cast includes Leslie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, Matt McCoy, Sherry Miller, and Amos Crawley. (89 minutes, 1995)

Onionhead - A messy film with Griffith joining the Coast Guard in pre WW2 and becoming a ships chef. The flick tries to be a comedy, a romance, and a drama at the same time and succeeds at none. Cast includes Andy Griffith, Felicia Farr, Walter Matthau, Erin O'Brien, Joe Mantell, Ray Danton, James Gregory, Joey Bishop, Roscoe Karns, Claude Akins, Peter Brown, and Tige Andrews. (110 minutes, 1958)

Movies And MP3

Movies and MP3 files are already compressed with near maximum capacity. Repacking them would just create larger files and increase decompression time. Ripped movies are still packaged due to the large file size, but compression is disallowed and the RAR format is used only as a container. Because of this, modern playback software can easily play a release directly from the packaged files, and even stream it as the release is downloaded (if the network is fast enough).

MP3 and music video releases are an exception in that they are not packaged into a single archive like almost all other sections. These releases have content that is not further compressible without loss of quality, but also have small enough files that they can be transferred reliably without breaking them up. Since these releases rarely have large numbers of files, leaving them unpackaged is more convenient and allows for easier scripting. For example, scripts can read ID3 information from MP3s and sort releases based on those contents.
