Places Online Where You Can Download Movies

By Edwina Byers

If we knew how to, all of us would be downloading movies. The truth is, not many people can recommend a site. There are so many sites offering fast movie downloads. There are other ways to download movies called torrents but they can be complicated files to open and even advanced computer users get stuck. It is best to look for plain and easy sources to download movies.

But as soon as you click that download button, you are soon betrayed. There is always a sign up process and a place for you to enter your credit card. Even the so called free trials will not begin without a credit card. It is best to do some research before joining somewhere.

The site you choose should have a good sized database of movies. Try not to expect to find a website with a massive collection of movies. I honestly do not think anyone has more than twenty thousand movies. But you never know. Hopefully, that database is updated on a daily basis. The more movies, the better. The site should also be easy to use. Movies should be categorized and easily searchable. Most people like to read a short description of the movie before they commit to watching it. The website should be efficiently organized, you should not find out the movie you downloaded is in a foreign language.

Since you will not be able to know about the true download speed or picture quality before you sign up, it is very important to check around. You do not want to pay for a membership that allows you to download bad quality bootlegs! You also deserve a site that is free from pop ups, spy ware or viruses. Also, be careful about which reviews you read. Most reviews these days are fake. Did you know that there is a movie download review site that mimics KS consumer report magazine?

So now you know why little is known about downloading movies. It would be an even nicer treat if you were able to easily burn these movies to a disc. Nothing beats being able to share a good movie with your friends. Unfortunately, that is illegal so it probably will not happen. You are only allowed to make back up copies if you own the movie.

Are there free sites to use? This is a two part answer. There are many sites where you can watch a movie online free. There are no sites that I know of that allow you to download a movie free except for the complex torrents.

For those of you that are still interested in finding a membership site, I will try to throw in a few ideas about websites to look at. I have not tried any myself so you are on your own. There are plenty of sites to choose from.

So how do you know which sites are legitimate and which sites deliver what they promise? Are you better off going with a big name? More and more video chain stores are turning towards online sales. These bigger companies are likely to have a great service. You might have to pay for it though.

After all, movie download sites are still in the early development stages. The big fish have yet to make a name for themselves. Now is the real time to start exploring. The websites you discover may be the best one out there.

Movies And MP3

Movies and MP3 files are already compressed with near maximum capacity. Repacking them would just create larger files and increase decompression time. Ripped movies are still packaged due to the large file size, but compression is disallowed and the RAR format is used only as a container. Because of this, modern playback software can easily play a release directly from the packaged files, and even stream it as the release is downloaded (if the network is fast enough).

MP3 and music video releases are an exception in that they are not packaged into a single archive like almost all other sections. These releases have content that is not further compressible without loss of quality, but also have small enough files that they can be transferred reliably without breaking them up. Since these releases rarely have large numbers of files, leaving them unpackaged is more convenient and allows for easier scripting. For example, scripts can read ID3 information from MP3s and sort releases based on those contents.
